Ericksen to host legislative listening sessions for business owners concerned about economic recovery

OLYMPIA – Business owners and business leaders in the 42nd Legislative District are invited to attend one of several legislative listening sessions with Sen. Doug Ericksen, R-Ferndale, on Tuesday, Sept. 14 where they can share their concerns about issues, policies and opportunities that affect their ability to survive and succeed in Washington.

“Businesses are facing tough challenges during this time of economic recovery. Increasing regulations, staffing shortages and a growing tax burden stand in the way. I want to hear directly from them what issues concern them most and what they need from the Legislature. We have to create a more business-friendly environment here in Washington. Too many small business owners were driven out of business permanently by the shutdowns. Many more are teetering on the edge. And too many large employers are being run out of state and taking their family-wage jobs with them. The voices of those trying to rebuild our economy are critical to developing common-sense policy that will help.”

Every business owner or leader is welcome – from sole proprietors to corporate CEOs. Space is limited in each session so that COVID safety protocols can be observed. Reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Sen. Ericksen will offer as many sessions as needed to give anyone who RSVPs a chance to be heard.
